Staff
Shakira is the new owner of the preschool. The Ascension Pre-School was taken over from Laura watts in March 2011. Shakira has two sons aged 3 years and 2 months. she is working towards a diploma in childcare level 3.
Everyday there are five staff members and all staff receive regular training and are either qualified or working towards a professional qualification. All staff are fully CRB checked.
Children are put into key groups and are given a key worker. It is the key worker's responsibility to liase with parents and monitor the progress of their key group within the setting. Parents will be a given a short summary of their child's development at the end of each term based on the Early years foundation stage curriculum. Children also have a portfolio containing observations and photographs, which will be given to parents when children leave the setting.
Our staff are:
Johanne - (Manager) has over 20 years working with children,8 years management experience. She is qualified in NVQ level 4 in childcare and level 4 in management. She joined the preschool in November 2010.
Mamtaz - Nursery Nurse (Key worker)- Mamtaz has been at the Pre-School for 11 years and has completed an NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education.
Usha - Nursery Nurse (Key worker)- Usha joined the Pre-School 6 years ago and holds an NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education.
Bridie - Nursery Assistant- Bridie has completed her CACHE level 2 in Pre-School Practice and has been at the Pre-School for over three years, she is currently completing NVQ3 in childcare.
Donna - Nursery Nurse (Key Worker) - Donna has past experience as a childminder and joined us last year and she holds a Level 2 qualification.
Vanessa - Nursery Nurse (Key Worker) - Vanessa is currently completing an NVQ 3 in child care and has over twenty years experience of children with special needs.
