Staff
The Ascension Pre-School has been owned and managed by Laura Watts since 2005. Laura has an NVQ 3 in childcare and education and a level 4 certificate. Laura is a qualified NVQ assessor and has had 15 years of experience working with children.
Everyday there are five staff members and all staff receive regular training and are either qualified or working towards a professional qualification. All staff are fully CRB checked.
Children are put into key groups and are given a key worker. It is the key worker's responsibility to liase with parents and monitor the progress of their key group within the setting. Parents will be a given a short summary of their child's development at the end of each term based on the Early years foundation stage curriculum. Children also have a portfolio containing observations and photographs, which will be given to parents when children leave the setting.
Each key group has a day in which staff plan a focus activity for them either in a group or on a smaller basis. (Please see timetable)
Our staff are:
Mamtaz –Nursery Nurse (Key worker)- Mamtaz has been at the Pre-School for 11 years and is currently completing an NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education.
Usha- Nursery Nurse (Key worker)- Usha joined the Pre-School 6 years ago and holds an NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education.
Danielle-Nursery Nurse (Key worker)- Danielle has been at the Pre-School for 2 years and is completing an NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education.
Jeanette- Nursery Nurse (Key worker)- Jeanette joined the Pre-School 15 years ago and holds a Diploma in Pre-School Practice.
Bridie-Nursery Assistant- Bridie is finishing her CACHE level 2 in Pre-School Practice and has been at the Pre-School for over a year.
